PETER WITHE - ENGLAND & ASTON VILLA

Peter Withe was a brilliant striker who played for England, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Wolves, etc. He joined Brian Clough's mighty Notts Forest in 1976 where he scored 28 goals in 2 seasons. He Joined Aston Villa in 1980 and scored the only goal in the 1982 European Cup Final win against Bayern Munich. The season after Withe played in the 1982 European Super Cup 3–1 aggregate win against F.C. Barcelona. He also played for Newcastle and Wolves.

Peter was the first Aston Villa player to be selected in an England World Cup Finals squad which was in España 82.

He went on to become an International Manager after managing Wimbledon for various Teams including Thailand and Indonesia, etc. 

FRANCIS BURNS - MANCHESTER UNITED

Francis Burns needs no introduction. The Scotsman played alongside George Best and Bobby Charlton and spent 7 years at Manchester United. The brilliant Left Back scored 6 goals and played 121 times for United. He also played for the Scotland National side.

He played a key part in six of the matches in Manchester United's run to the 1968 European Cup final.

After 7 incredible years at Manchester United, Francis Burns joined Southampton Football Club in 1972 and finished his career with Shamrock Rovers in 1982. 

MICKY BRENNAN - MANCHESTER CITY

Former Manchester City FC player Micky Brennan can claim a special place in WA football history. He is considered to be the only person to have coached the winners of both the State League title and the State Amateur league championship. Micky is inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in WA.

He joined Manchester City at age 16 and after several years with Man City he went on to play for Stockport County, Rochdale FC and Macclesfield Town FC.

Mickey went on to manage various teams in the UK and in Western Australia.

Gary Stevens Will Play and Attend the Mick Lyons Benefit Night in Mandurah

GARY STEVENS - ENGLAND & EVERTON

Gary Stevens was a talented defender who began his career with Everton FC in 1981. He played in the most successful Everton side in the 1980s where he won the English League Championship twice, the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup. He was later named by Everton supporters as part of the clubs' greatest ever side. He then transferred to Rangers in 1988, where he won the Scottish Premier Division in six consecutive years and the Scottish Cup once.

In 1994 Gary signed for Tranmere Rovers, playing there until his retirement in 1998. He also played for the England National Team, gaining a total of 46 appearances, and playing at the World Cup in both 1986 and 1990.

RHYS WILLIAMS - AUSTRALIA, WALES, MIDDLESBOROUGH, BURNLEY & GLORY

Socceroo and Middlesborough FC Legend; Rhys Williams started his career in WA and became an International success with Wales U21's and with Australia's Socceroos. The former Captain of Middlesborough FC notched up 126 appearances for Middlesborough Football Club and had spells with Burnley FC and Charlton Athletic FC in England.

In May 2010 Rhys Williams was included in Australia's preliminary squad for the FIFA World Cup, unfortunately he could not compete due to an injury sustained while playing for his club. Rhys also played for Perth Glory FC, Melbourne Victory FC and Western Sydney Wanderers FC in Australia.

Jamie Harnwell Perth Glory FC will be in Attendance at the Mick Lyons Benefit Night

JAMIE HARNWELL - PERTH GLORY ACE & WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Peter Glory Legend; Jamie Harnwell holds the record for most appearances for Perth Glory, with 256 league appearances to his name.

Jamie played centre forward and centre back. He was a part of the 2009/2010 squad that made the Hyundai A-League Finals for the first time in the club's history. The club announced that Harnwell had signed on for the 2010/11 season in April 2010. On 3 October 2010, Jamie Harnwell broke Bobby Despotovski's record of 241 appearances for Perth Glory to become the most capped player of all time.

Jamie also played for Sorrento FC, Leyton Orient FC and Western Australia. He is the CEO of Football West in Western Australia.

TREVOR MORGAN - AFC BOURNEMOUTH, BOLTON, BRISTOL ROVERS, SHELBOURNE

Trevor Morgan was a much sought after Centre Forward who signed his first professional contract in 1980 with AFC Bournemouth. He went on to make over 400 appearances for a variety of Clubs in England before playing in Asia. In 1987, Trevor joined Bristol City from rivals Bristol Rovers. He also played for Bolton Wanderers and was a player and Assistant Manager at Birmingham City FC in the '93-'94 season. 

Trevor also played and managed a string of clubs in Asia including East Bengal and Kerala Blasters. He had Managerial spells at Exeter and Hull Football Clubs in England.

JOHN BROWN - HEARTS & ST MIRREN FC

John Brown was a talented Scottish Defender who played for Hearts of Midlothian from 1967 to 1969. John was sold to St Mirren in 1969 before moving to Berwick Rangers FC in 1970. He played with Berwick Rangers before moving to South Africa to play for East London in 1974. 

In 1977 John Brown moved on to play in defence for Canberra City FC until his final move to Inter Monaro in 1982.

John is a friend of Mick Lyons and will have a story or two on the night.

PETER JOHNSTON - ST PATRICK'S ATHLETIC FC & WESTERN AUSTRALIA FC

Born in Dublin, Peter played with St. Patrick’s Athletic before coming to Western Australia to play in 1970.

A talented utility Player, Peter played over 560 State League games for WA clubs including Morley Windmills FC, Swan Valley FC and West Perth Macedonia FC. He captained Morley Windmills FC to success in the league and in the D’Orsogna Cup.

Peter played 31 times for WA, including the winning Marah Halim Cup side in 1976. He was inducted into the WA Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

John Brown to Attend Mick Lyons Benefit Night

WILLIE KELLY - PERTH AZZURRI & WESTERN AUSTRALIA FC

A dynamic striker, Willie came to WA from Scotland in 1980. He was a key member of the Perth Azzurri side that was unbeaten when winning the league in 1981. Also won D’Orsogne Cup and Night Series. Then won league (unbeaten), Cup and Top Four with Spearwood Dalmatinac.

Willie played six times for WA; Coached Stirling Maceodonia to D’Orsogna Cup in 1992, and twice runners-up in league with Maceys; assist coach to Western Knights, won two leagues and cups.

Willie was inducted into the WA Football Hall of Fame in 2016.

ROBBIE GAŠPAR - HNK HAJDUK SPLIT & SABAH FC

Robbie was a highly talented attacking midfielder and a former player of Malaysian side Sabah FC where he played for two seasons and appeared in the final of the 2003 Malaysia Cup. He spent two years with Croatian giants HNK Hajduk Split where he developed in the youth team before returning to Australia to play for Sydney Olympic and Perth SC.

Robbie went on to play for top Malaysian side; Sabah FC in 2003 and spent 10 years playing for various clubs at high level in Indonesia. In 2013 he returned to WA and played for Inglewood FC and Floreat Athena FC.
